Topic Brainstorm
For my project, I have been interested in a few different options. These are Greek mythology, Native American traditions, the land of Oz and Fairy Tales. I like the idea of greek mythology and native american traditions because I don't know much about them so it would be cool to learn. I chose the land of Oz and fairy tales because they're things that I grew up with so I think I would be able to create a more developed project with the knowledge I already have.
1. Greek Mythology: I would specifically like to hone in on the 12 Olympian Gods and Goddesses for my project, if I pick this. I think the idea of having gods of architecture or gods of marriage and really gods of anything is an intriguing idea. I think there could be a cool idea here diving into these people being specialists in their fields and giving advice in their expertise.
2. Native American Traditions: I took a Native American Studies class a couple of years ago and learned a lot about Native American history. I think that this history is rich with tragedies and tradition that causes it to be incredibly interesting. I think that a story written about the traditions could carry that richness along with it.
3. the Land of Oz: I have loved the Wizard of Oz since I can remember. I remember leaning up against my Christmas tree as if I was Dorothy in the movie. I think that there is so much creativity in the movie but I think there is also so much that has been left unsaid too. There is SO much possibility in the land of Oz that I think could be written about.
4. Fairy Tales: I used to have a massive book of fairy tales that I would read before going to sleep every night. I loved it so much. As I grew up, some of my favorite things to read were the spin off stories of popular tales. Like the 3 little pigs from the perspective of the wolf. I think I would really like to write something like that for my story.
