Week 8 Reading and Writing

Mythology and Folklore is a lot different than I expected it to be. Not in a bad way, but I didn't anticipate any storytelling in the class. What I've found is that a majority of the class is based on storytelling. This is a really cool and interesting practice for me because as a PR major, I have to write a lot but I don't get a whole lot of experience writing creatively. I also have never been exposed to Mythological stories before so getting to read some of these stories is really interesting as well.

I like the portfolio that I have created so far. I think that it's a cool place to put all of my writings that are finished and touched up. When I write a story, I don't typically go back and read it again later on in the semester but because I have had to put one on my portfolio, I have had to go over and read it again and again. This helps me because I am able to add feedback from my professors and fellow classmates to make the story excellent.

Writing reading notes helped me to get in the mindset of "reading like a writer." If I hadn't been writing these notes, I don't think I would have done a good job looking out for ways to tell stories.

Of all of the photos that I found for my stories, this one is my favorite. I think it's mainly my favorite because it comes from the story that I have worked on the most so I feel most proud of it.

I think I've gotten to a point that I am doing everything I WANT to do in this class but there is more I NEED to do. I just need to take some more time out to make up some missed assignments with extra credit.
