Week 9 Reading A: The Monkey King

The Monkey King unit is about an ape that is deemed the Handsome Ape King by his other friends and is valued and respected. After about 300 years of ruling, the ape king realized that as he and his people grow older, they will have less time to live and will reach death. This spurs on his path to find saints, gods and buddhas in order to find what makes them immortal. 

For my storytelling, I want to write a story that is easy to edit so that I can put it on my portfolio and develop it well. I think I could write from the perspective of another ape that maybe wanted to be the king of the apes but was overshadowed by the ape king. Or even perhaps from the perspective of one of the people that he meets on his journey, if not multiple of them.
