Week 13 Reading A: Alice in Wonderland
For my reading this week, I got the chance to read Alice in Wonderland. I have realized this semester that for most of the stories I would assume I knew, I only really know half of the story or I misremember it. I wanted to get the chance to read through Alice in Wonderland fully so I knew the accurate story.
I didn't realize that Alice in Wonderland was a British/Celtic story but I found that pretty interesting.
I think what's interesting about this story, right off the bat, is that Alice is not afraid of anything that's happening to her. She wasn't afraid of the rabbit that talked to himself or had a coat/pocketwatch. She didn't seem to be afraid that she was falling down a well, but she thought about how people were going to think she was brave when she fell down stairs from now on because it wouldn't bother her.
The rabbit that is late would be a cool story to tell this week. Talking about where he was going, why he was so nervous, etc. There could be a lot of inner-dialogue here. I also like the way that the author wrote with various capital letters. It provides emphasis in a way that most authors do not do. I think I could try writing with this style this week.
