Week 14 Reading A: Hunt

This week I got to read the Hunt section of the European stories. The first portion had stories like Hansel and Grethel, Thumbling and Allerleirauh. While I didn't originally know what Allerleirauh was when I first saw it, I could give a good guess of what the other two were going to be about because they are very popular. I think it's interesting how we have Americanized the names to "Gretel" and "Thumbilina" instead of the original names. I liked reading these stories because I think it was really cool to read the original, non-edited version of these two massively popular stories. I found myself reading and trying to think of all the ways that I can write or create my own story with all the creativity that is included in these. Luckily, like a lot of the stories I have read this semester, there are non-realistic parts in these stories, such as the house made of bread and sugar windows in Hansel and Grethel, so I should be able to create something really cool and out-there.
