Week 10 Reading B: American Indian Fairy Tales
I chose to read the American Indian Fairy Tales unit because I thought that it would be cool to read more about fairy tales that were different than the fairy tales most people have always heard. I think there is a rich history to the Indian tribes in America so their fairy tales would be more interesting and colorful. When reading through these tales, I found that they were super in depth and detailed. I liked that because I could easily write a story about one of these tales.
The only thing I struggle with when reading stories like this is choosing one storyline to write about during story telling. Because there are multiple different stories, I don't get to hone in on one story that goes into a lot of detail. However, this is also an opportunity to write about these details and create a very concrete detail out of an abstract idea.
